Dragon Cave Egg Guide

Please note:

It is with great disappointment that I report that certain artists have declared
even respectful use of their art anywhere other than on the Dragon Cave site
to be art theft. While I disagree with this position, out of respect for the
artists, I have decided to remove images created by artists who object to the
display of their work.

Where possible, I intend to replace art works with links, so that the guide doesn't become completely defunct.

Further to this: I advise that all images that are used in this guide are stored in
my personal photobucket account. This is done with the intention of not using
bandwidth belonging to the artists. If you are an artist whose images are being
used in this guide, and you have a source from which you would prefer your art
be displayed, please contact me.

I would like to send my love to the artists Vicats and Dovealove, who have
declared that they do not object to egg guides. Thank you!

WARNING!!

This guide contains SPOILERS (obviously, else it wouldn't be a guide).

RARE — BREEDABLE

Breedable rares can be bred, but are very uncommon. This is caused by one of three reasons.

1. "Holiday" dragons: Dragons that represent a specific time of the year may either be breedable only at certain times of the year, or breedable all year round; but only produce offspring of their own type during the time of year associated with their holiday. Includes: Valentines, Christmas.
2. "Rare" dragons: Are breedable only to common dragons, and rarely produce eggs of their own type. Includes: Silver, Gold.
3. "Self" dragons: These dragons either only breed with other dragons of their own type, or are the rare offspring of a same-type breeding. Includes: Split, Geode.

FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS!

TJ explains the rarity system: If the amount of a dragon is below what it should be, then it will be more common from both methods of obtaining eggs. The futher the percentage is off, the more common it'll be. This is happening right now with dragons such as the pebbles and new pinks. Likewise, if the percentage of a breed is higher than it should be, then it'll be harder to get them.

What this means is that for every person out there hoarding golds/silvers/chickens, that's one more of each common you have to pick up to fix the ratios before you can have a rare dragon!

Zombie
A zombie dragon could only be produced by killing a dragon. As this was against the spirit of the game, Zombie dragons were removed.
Zombies only appear in the dead of the night (midnight EST to 6am), otherwise they appear as a tombstone (example).

Zombie-1.jpgZombie-2.jpgZombie-3.jpg
It's an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it wasn't partially decayed.
And look! It somehow managed to grow wings despite being dead.
Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming the dragon into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

You still can't see it. Maybe it's not even a dragon, just a huge cloud of fog.
